A Beautiful home built from Milled Dead Standing Timber

This home was built using 6" wide tapered fir and larch siding, all milled from dead standing timber.

Selective Salvage Harvesting

On the site of salvaging beetle-killed timber for housing. The lumber from this timber can be milled to produce flooring, siding, and laminate walls, just to name a few products. Harvesting this timber helps prevents the spread of beetles to other, healthy green trees.

House Wall - Sample Design

This wall design is an example of using laminate 9" walls, made from alternating 2x6 and 2x3 milled lumber layers. It produces an incredibly strong structure that needs no covering! Just sand and stain for a beautiful natural wood finish. Above right - picture of portion of finished interior wall.

12" Wall -Sample Design

This next sample design uses alternating 2x3, 2x6, and 2x3 boards atop two 2x6 boards beside one another. This produces a bulletproof structure of superior strength. The more dead air between the fewer fibers of softwood results in a warm and toasty insulating wall!

For a thicker wall, such as 16 inch, combine 2x8 and 2x4 board lumber.
