This next sample design uses alternating 2x3, 2x6, and 2x3 boards atop two 2x6 boards beside one another. This produces a bulletproof structure of superior strength. The more dead air between the fewer fibers of softwood results in a warm and toasty insulating wall!
For a thicker wall, such as 16 inch, combine 2x8 and 2x4 board lumber.
Good idea

I was exited to see this. I had an idea of making a house of laminated 2x6. I asked my buddy what he thought and he made me feel pretty stupid. I like your design better than mine but I was wondering if you think a 2x6 wall would be thick enough? I am in Oklahoma and we have very mild winters. Thanks.
